Fitness Trackers Established

Did you know, that before World War II, the ‘lie detector’ was the first machine to use sensors to detect changes in galvanic skin response (GSR), pulse rate and blood pressure, in order to detect when someone was lying to the police. This technology has now become commonplace in fitness trackers, such as the fitbit.

The 10,000 step benchmark that is programmed into most trackers comes from Dr Yoshiro Hatano, a Japanese professor from the Kyushu University of Health and Welfare, conducted research on how to fight obesity in his country and concluded that a 10k step regime was the goal for achieving ideal weight control and fitness.

He then introduced the Manpo-kei pedometer, which translates to 10,000 (man), steps (po) and measure (kei) in Japanese.

The Fitbit FITVII Slim Fitness tracker tracks Blood oxygen, Blood pressure, 24/7 heart rate and sleep.  It’s waterproof and pink.  My favorite of all trackers on the market.  Get yours here.

The best fitbit tracker for 2023, I absolutely love this one. It really does have it all.

Fitbit Sense 2

The Sense 2 is Fitbit’s most advanced fitness tracker yet. It offers a wide range of health and fitness tracking features, including heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, stress tracking, and SpO2 tracking. It also has built-in GPS, which makes it a great choice for runners and cyclists.

The Sense 2 also has a number of smart features, such as notifications, music controls, and contactless payments. It has a battery life of up to 6 days on a single charge.
